Jaxson Phoenix is a self-taught artisan who has struggled with depression his entire life. It wasn’t until recently that he discovered that he was starving his soul. He needed to create. It is his passion. It is his purpose. And so long as he continues to feed his souls creative hunger, he is successful at keeping the darkness from creeping back in and dragging him down to the catacombs of despair. He was born in Florida and lived there for the better part of 40 years. In 2009 he left Florida and all he had ever known and journeyed 3000 miles to begin a new chapter of his life in the pristine beauty of Inland Northwest.
In addition to painting he has authored three books of poetry, A Search for Meaning, Poetry in the Park, and The Heart of the Phoenix. He is also an excellent craftsman and enjoys repurposing old furniture into something new and different. These days, he spends most of his time painting. He is continually striving to learn more and become a better artist with each new day. It is his hope that you will find some joy in his works and that they may become a part of your life for many years to come.
